LuthorCorp Shares Touching Tribute to Homelander in a Wildest ‘The Boys’ / DCU Crossover
A mock social media account linked to LuthorCorp has sparked attention online after posting a dramatic tribute to Homelander, following the character’s death in the final episode of The Boys.
The post, which appeared on the fictional company’s social media page, presented Homelander as a heroic figure and described him in emotional terms. According to the shared message, LuthorCorp referred to him as a major symbol and someone close to its CEO, Lex Luthor.
The tribute read, “Today, we mourn the loss of a true American hero, and a friend to us all: Homelander. Homelander was more than just a symbol; he was a protector, an inspiration, and he was a cherished friend of our CEO, Lex Luthor. Let his legacy inspire us to build a brighter future, a world where hope triumphs over despair, and where heroes like Homelander are never forgotten. Rest in peace Homelander.”

The post quickly drew attention because LuthorCorp has been used as a fictional marketing tool tied to recent DC Universe promotions. The company’s online presence has been active since the release of James Gunn’s Superman and continues to be part of promotional storytelling for upcoming projects like Man of Tomorrow.
The tribute stood out because it blended fictional corporate messaging with characters from completely different universes, creating a crossover-style moment that fans found both confusing and amusing. Online reactions pointed out how unusual it was for a DC-related fictional company to publicly “honor” a character from The Boys, a series known for its darker take on superheroes.
Shortly after the initial post, additional updates were shared from the same account. In one follow-up message, the page warned users about negative comments. It said, “Please be careful of all the Starlighters in the comments trying to tarnish his legacy. Homelander will always be our own American hero!”

A second post escalated the fictional storyline even further, adding a conspiracy-style message that pulled in other superhero references. It stated, “We also have reason to believe that William Butcher who was responsible for the death of Homelander was working with the alien criminal SUPERMAN!”

The tone of these messages continued the exaggerated, in-universe style that LuthorCorp has used as part of its ongoing digital marketing strategy. Rather than being official plot developments, the posts are part of a fictional social media campaign designed to expand the storytelling experience around DC projects.
LuthorCorp’s online activity has been used to blur the line between fiction and marketing, especially as DC Studios builds interest in its connected universe.
The unexpected mention of Homelander, a character from a completely separate franchise, added an extra layer of confusion and humor for fans. Some saw it as a playful crossover joke, while others viewed it as part of the growing trend of viral, in-character social media marketing.
