Marvel Presents: Indiana Jones’ Hunt for the Infinity Gauntlet and More Legendary Artifacts, Check out the First Look
Indiana Jones has spent decades chasing down the most legendary relics in human history, from the Ark of the Covenant to the Holy Grail, always staying one step ahead of anyone who’d misuse that kind of power. Now Marvel Comics is putting the famed archaeologist to a very different kind of test, one that pulls him directly into the middle of its own sprawling universe of superpowered artifacts.
That crossover marks the character’s next chapter following years away from Marvel’s comic pages. The publisher has been steadily rebuilding Indy’s presence throughout 2026, with new deluxe hardcover reprints of his classic 1980s Marvel sagas and an entirely new ongoing series both already in the works ahead of this latest announcement.
Marvel has now unveiled five new Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts variant covers, sending the archaeologist after some of the most powerful and recognizable objects in Marvel history. The covers come from artists Carmen Carnero, Marco Checchetto, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar and Iban Coello, each pairing Indy with a different treasure pulled straight from Marvel’s mythology.
Among the objects on Indy’s hit list is the Infinity Gauntlet, the device famously wielded by Thanos to erase half of all existence, alongside Thor’s hammer Mjolnir and Knull’s symbiote-forged blade, All-Black the Necrosword. Rounding out the set are the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, the artifact responsible for transforming Cain Marko into Juggernaut, and Doctor Doom’s iconic mask, which appears on the very first cover Marvel revealed for the crossover.
The variant covers will appear across a spread of ongoing Marvel titles, with the Doctor Doom mask cover landing on ‘Fantastic Four’ #19, while the remaining artifacts will show up on ‘X-Men’ #41, ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #1004, ‘Thor’ #803 and ‘Venom’ #2. All five covers are scheduled to hit shelves this November, giving collectors and longtime Indy fans a full month of crossover material to track down.
This isn’t the only piece of the character’s Marvel resurgence rolling out around the same time. ‘Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I’ and ‘Book II’, deluxe hardcover collections gathering his beloved 1980s Marvel sagas including adaptations of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, ‘Temple of Doom’ and ‘The Last Crusade’, are set to arrive in October. A facsimile edition of the character’s very first Marvel appearance is also planned for release that same November.
Looking further ahead, the artifact covers are helping set the stage for Indy’s proper return to ongoing comic storytelling with ‘Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium’, a new series from writer Jason Aaron and artist Aaron Kuder picking up after the events of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’. That series is expected to launch in February, giving Marvel a steady drumbeat of Indiana Jones content stretching across the next several months.
Between the artifact covers, the classic reprints and the upcoming new series, Marvel is clearly treating this crossover as the opening chapter of a much bigger push for the character rather than a standalone novelty.
