Marvel Reveals Best Look Yet at Ant-Man’s Suit in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Marvel’s costume department has been busy overhauling nearly everyone in its massive ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ ensemble, from Shang-Chi’s brand new armor to Mystique’s total makeover for her MCU debut. Amid all that redesigning, one returning hero appears to be bucking the trend entirely, sticking with a look fans already know and love rather than reinventing the wheel.
That hero is Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, whose Ant-Man suit has quietly become something of a fixture across the franchise since his 2015 debut. Rudd has played the character across Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Endgame, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in addition to voicing alternate variants on What If.
Marvel shared new concept art this week confirming that Scott appears to be sporting his suit from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ once again in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ celebrating the return of the classic look.
That particular red and black suit has often been cited as one of the strongest versions of the costume across the character’s live-action history, taking the classic comic design and translating it into something practical while keeping the helmet’s iconic silhouette intact.
Rudd’s return as Scott Lang was confirmed via Superherohype, marking his first appearance as the character since 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said Scott will experience a significant evolution in this installment, taking on more of an elder statesman role as he interacts with the franchise’s newer heroes.
Rudd himself had spent months keeping the door open for a comeback before Marvel made anything official. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter at the SXSW premiere of Death of a Unicorn, Rudd said he felt like he should never be too far from the suit in case Marvel called, adding that the studio knew exactly where to find him.
Scott Lang is expected to appear as part of Sam Wilson’s Heroic Avengers grouping in the film, standing alongside Thor, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Loki, based on how the cast was organized during Disney’s Giornate Di Cinema Sorrento presentation in Italy. Kathryn Newton is also expected to return as Scott’s daughter Cassie, giving the character’s family dynamic another chance to play out on screen.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom alongside a massive ensemble spanning the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. The film hits theaters on December 18, and while so many of his fellow heroes are getting dramatic makeovers ahead of the crossover, it looks like Scott Lang is proving that sometimes the classic look really is the one worth keeping.
