As for the off-screen figure, it’s Stephen King, whose Carrie is currently being adapted as a series for Amazon. This was a fact that has been known for some time now, and while we’ve already seen two adaptations of Carrie, another one won’t hurt.

But, who’s joining? Well, according to the latest – unconfirmed – information, horror legend Matthew Lillard is in talks to join the series!

Mathew Lillard is a well-known name among horror fans, as he appeared as Stu Macher in the original Scream movie, so his experience with horror is definitely something that helps. He’s also been appearing as Shaggy in recent Scooby-Doo projects, so he also knows the wacky side of horror.

If this is confirmed, Lillard would be joining newcomer Summer H. Howell, who plays the title character, and Siena Agudong, who will portray Sue Snell. As for his role, no information about it has been revealed.

Also, if Lillard agrees to appear, the series would reunite him with director Mike Flanagan (The Fall of the House of UsherMidnight Mass), whom he worked with on The Life of Chuck, another Stephen King adaptation, which won the People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, and is slated for release via Neon on June 6.
