The long-running debate over who would win between Supergirl and Superman finally has an answer, at least according to the actress playing Kara Zor-El. Milly Alcock shared her thoughts on the possible Kryptonian showdown while attending the world premiere of ‘Supergirl’ in Brooklyn.

The actress arrived at the event ahead of the film’s theatrical release and was asked about a battle between her character and David Corenswet’s Superman. According to Variety, Alcock did not hesitate when choosing a winner and backed Supergirl in the hypothetical fight.

Alcock said that Supergirl is “objectively stronger” than Superman, giving Kara the advantage in a direct fight. However, she also added a funny twist to her answer, suggesting that Superman might not actually try to defeat her and would simply “let me win.”

The playful comment fits the relationship between the two characters in the new DC Universe. While both heroes share the same Kryptonian origins, their personalities and experiences are very different. Superman is usually seen as calm and hopeful, while Kara’s version in the upcoming film is expected to have a much rougher edge.

Director Craig Gillespie previously talked about the connection between the two cousins and described their relationship as having a family-like rivalry. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Gillespie said they have “this almost older-sibling dynamic and that can be adversarial.” He also explained that Superman is more patient and gentle, while Kara is still trying to figure herself out.

The upcoming ‘Supergirl’ movie will introduce a different side of Kara Zor-El compared to previous versions of the character. The story follows Kara as she travels through space while dealing with anger, revenge, and personal struggles. James Gunn has described this version of Supergirl as a character with a strong attitude, moving away from the traditional image of a perfect superhero.

Alcock is joining the new DC Universe as one of its major characters, following David Corenswet’s introduction as Superman. The two actors will share the screen, giving fans their first look at how the new franchise handles the relationship between Earth’s two most famous Kryptonians.

Preparing for the role required serious training from Alcock. The actress revealed that she learned several alien languages for the film and spent time preparing physically for the demanding action scenes. Her version of Kara is expected to be more intense and unpredictable than audiences may expect.

The film also marks another major step in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the DC Universe. After ‘Superman’ introduced Corenswet’s version of the hero, ‘Supergirl’ expands the world by focusing on a character who has often lived in Superman’s shadow.

While Alcock believes Kara would win in a fight, her comments also highlight the bond between the two heroes. Their relationship is not just about strength or competition, but about family and the different paths they have taken.

Fans will soon get to see whether Supergirl truly lives up to Alcock’s confidence when ‘Supergirl’ arrives in theaters. What do you think, would Supergirl really beat Superman in a fight? Share your thoughts in the comments.
