‘My Adventures With Superman’ Season 3 Episode Guide: Superboy, Cyborg Superman, and the Biggest Reign Yet

The wait is finally over. After nearly two years without new episodes, ‘My Adventures With Superman‘ has roared back into action and, judging by early critical reception, it has been more than worth the patience. The animated series premiered its third season on June 13, 2026, at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim’s Toonami block, with streaming availability on HBO Max beginning the following day. And right out of the gate, the Man of Steel is flying higher than ever.

The season debuted with a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with every published review coming back positive. Critics praised the series for its animation, storytelling, action sequences, and fresh approach to Superman mythology. For a show that has never once dropped the ball across its entire run, that kind of hat trick is genuinely rare.

The ‘Reign of the Supermen’ Storyline Reimagined

Season 3 takes inspiration from one of the most famous Superman stories ever published, the classic ‘Reign of the Supermen’ comic arc. However, the show is not attempting a direct adaptation. Instead, it uses familiar characters and concepts while reshaping them to fit the world that the series has already established. That restraint has proven to be a consistent creative strength.

One of the biggest additions this season is Cyborg Superman, who is revealed to be Hank Henshaw, voiced by Max Mittelman. The character’s resentment toward aliens grows after the events of Season 2, setting him on a dangerous path. The season’s first poster revealed Cyborg Superman featuring an “L” symbol on his chest rather than Superman’s iconic “S,” and he may be operating under the influence of Lex Luthor, the season’s primary antagonist.

For all the good Superman does, the people of Earth remain understandably uneasy about sharing their world with a being who wields that kind of power and carries that kind of history. That fear is exactly what Lex Luthor, voiced by Max Mittelman, weaponizes this season. It is a thematic layer that gives the villain arc genuine weight beyond simple action-movie plotting.

All of this is framed around the show’s complete, ground-up reboot of the classic “Death of Superman” and “Reign of the Supermen” comic storyline. Characters like Cyborg Superman and Superboy are each wrestling with the same central question, what do they want the future to be, either on the personal scale or the macro scale of the universe.

Darren Criss as Superboy Changes the Game

‘Glee’ and Broadway star Darren Criss voices Superboy, who is seen trading never-ending questions with Superman and Lois Lane in the trailer. It is the kind of casting that reads as obvious in hindsight, and the reviews confirm it pays off spectacularly.

Darren Criss is known for playing Blaine in ‘Glee’ and, more recently, having served as the voice of Superman in DC’s animated Tomorrowverse franchise. As Superboy, he gets to flex a whole new set of muscles. The animated series’ Superboy is funny, charming, and one of season 3’s most vibrant parts, adding a new dynamic to the core cast of characters and pushing the story forward in new emotional ways.

Adult Swim

The dramatic parts of the season center a lot around Lois and Clark’s relationship future and just how ready Lois is to get more serious than they already are. A physical representation of this conflict is Superboy appearing before them. For fans, there is a nice amalgamation of most of the modern versions of the character, from the original ‘Reign of the Supermen’ 1990s version through the New 52 version and the Jon Kent version.

In Screen Rant’s season 3 review, Felipe Rangel noted that “there is a major event that fundamentally changes the show around the halfway mark, making the first five episodes very different from the latter half.” That structural ambition is precisely the kind of creative risk that separates genuinely great animated television from content that simply fills a slot.

Season 3 Episode Schedule and Titles

The season consists of 10 episodes, with one new installment dropping per week until the finale. Episodes premiere on Adult Swim before debuting on HBO Max roughly 24 hours later. Below is the complete episode guide for the season, with confirmed titles where available.

Titles for Episodes 4 through 10 have not yet been publicly confirmed and will be revealed as the season unfolds.

A Returning Cast and an Expanding DC Universe

Returning voice cast includes Jack Quaid as Clark Kent/Superman, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, alongside new addition Darren Criss as Superboy. The ensemble continues to be one of the show’s most quietly underrated strengths.

Jack Quaid also voices B-1Z/Bizarro this season, with David Errigo Jr. returning as Mr. Mxyzptlk. The willingness to pull from across the Superman mythology, both celebrated and obscure, speaks to the creative team’s genuine love of the source material.

Fans can also expect a brief appearance from Jessica Cruz, which will serve as an introduction to the character before she leads her own spin-off series, ‘My Adventures with Green Lantern.’ That spin-off will focus on a teenage version of the character and is currently in production from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios.

Why Season 3 Could Be the Best Yet

Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen described the new season as something that “goes harder, looks bigger, and packs the emotional punch that makes this series such a standout.” Voice lead Jack Quaid called the season “maybe my favourite” of the entire run, describing it as the show’s funniest yet while emphasizing that the stakes for his character are significantly higher this time around.

‘My Adventures With Superman’ Season 3 is the best of what DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation are offering at the moment. It raises the bar high enough to be a problem for whatever comes next, and gives fans a Superman who feels fully lived in while standing comfortably apart from the live-action versions flying around the multiplex.

The season’s official synopsis sets the emotional tone well: Clark has truly become Superman and made peace with his Kryptonian origins and is ready to settle down, but Lois, who has finally become the Planet’s star reporter, is not.

Jimmy has evolved from freelance photographer to celebrity journalist but is still intimidated by the romantic attentions of the newly arrived Kara Zor-El, who is trying to find her place on Earth. This found family will have to confront powerful new enemies that challenge Superman, threaten their future, and test the bonds holding them together.

With new episodes landing every Saturday night through mid-August, this is shaping up to be the animated event of the summer, so which character are you most excited to see take center stage as ‘My Adventures With Superman’ navigates its boldest season yet, Superboy’s arrival, Cyborg Superman’s threat, or the evolving Clark-and-Lois dynamic that has always been the beating heart of the show?
