Netflix has added both seasons of NOS4A2 to its streaming library as of October 29. The supernatural horror series, based on Joe Hill’s 2013 novel, originally aired on AMC from 2019 to 2020.

The show stars Zachary Quinto as Charlie Manx, a chilling figure described as a “different kind of vampire.” Manx feeds on the souls of children and traps them in his twisted creation, Christmasland, a nightmarish world where every day is Christmas.

Ashleigh Cummings plays Vic McQueen, a young artist who discovers she has a supernatural power to track lost things. This ability puts her on a dangerous path to confront Manx and stop his deadly schemes.

Created by Jami O’Brien, NOS4A2 also stars Jahkara Smith, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Virginia Kull, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The story follows Vic as she tries to rescue Manx’s victims without losing her sanity or falling into his clutches herself. The series wrapped up after two seasons in August 2020, completing the storyline from Hill’s original novel.

The show has received generally positive reviews. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the first season earned a 69% approval rating, with the site noting, “Though Nos4a2 strains to build the necessary atmosphere to pull off its ambitious premise, it does capture the spirit of Joe Hill’s singular work and provides a new psychopath for Zachary Quinto to sink his teeth into.”

Metacritic gave the first season a 47 out of 100, signaling mixed or average reviews. The second season saw a slight improvement, earning a 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fans of supernatural horror have praised the series for its eerie atmosphere, creative storytelling, and Quinto’s performance as a villain who is both terrifying and unforgettable. With its availability on Netflix, a new wave of viewers can experience the dark, twisted world of NOS4A2.
