New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Reunites Letitia Wright, James Marsden, Simu Liu and Rebecca Romijn
Marvel Studios has settled into a rhythm for the final stretch before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. Instead of a single big reveal, the studio has been dropping a steady stream of short cast videos, each one aimed at keeping the conversation alive until the film arrives on December 18. The latest ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ promo is the newest entry in that series.
The strategy has been consistent for weeks. A promo in early October brought together Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Simu Liu and Danny Ramirez, while a theater spot that played before ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Encore screenings put Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, James Marsden and Pedro Pascal in costume in a packed auditorium. Each clip has been brief, cryptic and quickly dissected by fans.
Now a new video features Letitia Wright, James Marsden, Simu Liu and Rebecca Romijn. The 21-second clip opens on a young child laughing with obvious delight, and it’s billed as a promo for the film. The sources available so far don’t describe exactly what the cast members do in the footage, so the visuals are the main clue for now.

The 4 names in the new promo capture the film’s unusual mix of MCU regulars and legacy X-Men stars. Wright returns as Shuri, the Black Panther, who was revealed as part of the cast during Marvel’s five-and-a-half-hour livestream in March 2025. Liu is back as Shang-Chi, a character who has been largely absent from the MCU since his debut.
Marsden and Romijn belong to the other side of the lineup. Marsden is returning as Cyclops and Romijn as Mystique, roles from the original ‘X-Men’ films that they haven’t played in years. Romijn’s last turn as the blue-skinned mutant came in 2006, aside from a brief cameo in ‘X-Men: First Class’.
Their inclusion is part of a larger reunion that also includes Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler and Kelsey Grammer as Beast. Patrick Stewart is also part of the ensemble as Professor X, and reports indicate the film will be his last. That adds extra emotional weight to the X-Men presence in the movie, particularly after his death on October 28.
The drip-feed approach reflects both the size of the cast and the secrecy around the story. Marvel confirmed 27 actors in its initial announcements, and some reports suggest dozens more could appear. With that many characters, a single trailer can only show a fraction of the ensemble, so short individual spots help give each performer a moment.
The promos also serve a practical purpose around ticket sales. Tickets for the film have been available for months, including in Infinity Vision theaters, and many of the cast videos have been tied to regional on-sale moments. Keeping the film in the feed week after week helps maintain momentum ahead of a December release that will face stiff competition from ‘Dune: Part Three’.
The earlier trailers established the stakes. They place Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom at the center of a multiverse-spanning confrontation, with appearances from the Fantastic Four, Namor, Gambit, Magneto, Yelena Belova and others. Wright’s Shuri and the Wakandans are also part of the picture, and some observers have wondered how the film will affect the future of the ‘Black Panther’ franchise.
Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers has been one of the biggest talking points, along with the idea that heroes from 3 different corners of Marvel history will join forces. The Russo brothers, who directed ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’, are back behind the camera, and the first 4 ‘Avengers’ films have grossed more than $7.7 billion at the box office. Expectations are enormous.

With about 7 weeks to go, the marketing campaign is clearly accelerating. Food tie-ins, posters, premium-format ticket pushes and cast videos are arriving almost daily, and each one adds another piece to the picture. The film’s reported runtime of 165 minutes also suggests there is plenty of story still under wraps.
For fans, the appeal of the latest clip is less about what it reveals and more about who is in it. Seeing a Wakandan princess, a martial arts master and 2 X-Men veterans share a promotional moment captures the crossover spirit that Marvel is selling. And with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ scheduled for December 17, 2027, ‘Doomsday’ is only the beginning of the next big chapter.
