New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Set Leaks Hint at Possible Connection To ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Reality

Fantastic Four: First Steps and Avengers: Doomsday are shaping up to be two of the most anticipated entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next chapter. First Steps will finally introduce Marvel’s “First Family, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm—into the MCU.
And if the growing number of rumors are to be believed, the film may also mark the debut of one of Marvel’s most iconic villains: Doctor Doom. Adding fuel to the fire, there are reports that Robert Downey Jr. will appear in a cameo role, possibly teasing deeper multiversal connections.
The movie is set on a retro-futuristic Earth inspired by the 1960s—a unique setting that already sets it apart visually from anything we’ve seen in the MCU so far. Filming began on July 30, 2024, at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, a familiar production hub for Marvel films.
These days, however, Pinewood is bustling again—this time with preparations for Avengers: Doomsday, the next massive MCU crossover event. With a reported cast that includes over 25 characters from across the franchise, Doomsday is expected to be a cinematic juggernaut.
Recent leaked set photos have sparked intense speculation, showing what appear to be two large craters—suggesting destruction on a cosmic scale.
Adding to the intrigue, popular insider @UnBoxPHD shared new set leaks that reveal a familiar location: Yancy Street, the fictional New York neighborhood closely associated with the Fantastic Four. Interestingly, it appears that portions of the First Steps set are being reused for Doomsday‘s production, strongly hinting at a crossover between the two films.
Given that Doctor Doom is traditionally a Fantastic Four villain, it’s no surprise that Marvel is laying the groundwork for a larger narrative. In fact, the entire First Steps cast—Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm), has already been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday.
While Marvel remains tight-lipped, all signs point to Doomsday revisiting or at least partially taking place in the reality introduced in Fantastic Four: First Steps. This may serve as a deeper exploration of Doom’s origins or even mark a major turning point for the MCU’s multiverse saga.
One thing’s for sure: the connection between these two films is more than just a coincidence, it’s the beginning of something much bigger.
