New Clips Drop from ‘A Minecraft Movie’

Two new clips from A Minecraft Movie have been released, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming adventure. The film is set to hit theaters on April 4, 2025.

A Minecraft Movie is a fantasy adventure comedy based on the popular video game Minecraft. It is directed by Jared Hess and features a screenplay by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta. The film stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen.

The movie follows four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks). They are pulled through a portal into the Minecraft world, called the Overworld.

In this cubic world, they must learn to survive and team up with Steve (Jack Black), an expert crafter. Together, they embark on an adventure to protect the Overworld from dangerous creatures like zombies and piglins, all while trying to find their way back home.

The movie has been in development since 2014. Over the years, several filmmakers and writers were involved before Jared Hess took over as director in 2022. Principal photography began in New Zealand in early 2024 and was completed by mid-April.

Warner Bros. Pictures will release A Minecraft Movie in theaters on April 4, 2025. With its mix of adventure, comedy, and creativity, the film aims to bring the world of Minecraft to life in an exciting way for fans of all ages.
