Filming for Man of Tomorrow is still going strong in Atlanta, Georgia, and new fan-captured footage is giving people a closer look at what’s coming in the next chapter of the new DC Universe.

According to on-set videos and images shared by fans during production, things are getting bigger and more intense than expected, especially for Lex Luthor.

The upcoming film, a follow-up to Superman (2025), is directed by James Gunn and continues the story of David Corenswet’s Superman. Nicholas Hoult returns as Lex Luthor, and early set material has already shown him in a green armored suit, something that has sparked a lot of discussion among fans. There are also clips showing Superman and armored Lex in what appears to be a direct fight during filming.

Now, new set footage is adding even more mystery to the story. In the latest video from the Atlanta shoot, background audio reportedly includes lines being delivered on set where a voice demands that Lex be handed over. The tone of the scene suggests a major threat is present, with consequences for the entire city if demands are not met.

Alongside the video, images from the set show Superman and Lex in a crowd of people who suddenly react to something in the sky. According to fan descriptions, everyone looks upward after hearing what is described as a “mysterious screech from above.” The moment has led to a lot of speculation about what kind of enemy the heroes are dealing with.

While nothing has been officially confirmed by DC Studios, many fans believe the setup could point toward Brainiac, a well-known DC Comics villain often portrayed as a highly intelligent alien AI or collector of worlds. In the comics, Brainiac has clashed with both Superman and Lex Luthor, sometimes even forcing them into uneasy alliances or manipulation-based conflicts.

Because of that history, some viewers are now guessing that Man of Tomorrow might follow a similar idea. One popular theory suggests that Superman could be under some kind of control, which would explain why he is seen fighting Lex in earlier footage. In this version of events, Brainiac could be using Superman against Lex as part of a larger plan involving Metropolis.

Another possibility being discussed is that Lex’s armored suit is his response to being targeted after the events of Superman (2025), where he ended the film in disgrace after his actions nearly destroyed the city. The idea that Lex might be forced to defend himself against both Superman and a larger alien threat has added more tension to what fans are seeing on set.

For now, everything remains unconfirmed, and most of the details come from unofficial set leaks and fan recordings. But with production still underway and more footage likely to surface, interest in Man of Tomorrow continues to grow.

According to DC Studios’ production timeline, the film is expected to expand the new DC Universe storyline in a major way, especially with the introduction of larger cosmic threats and deeper connections between key characters like Superman and Lex Luthor.
