New Trailer for ‘Eternity’ Showcases Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, and Miles Teller in a Heartfelt Fantasy Romance
A24 has released new trailer for Eternity, a new fantasy romantic comedy starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner. The movie, directed by David Freyne, is set to arrive in U.S. theaters this November after premiering at several major film festivals.
The story follows Joan, played by Elizabeth Olsen, who finds herself in the afterlife where everyone gets one week to decide where they want to spend eternity.
For Joan, the choice is deeply personal, she must decide between two men: Luke, her first love who died young in war, and Larry, the husband she spent her life with. Miles Teller plays Larry, while Callum Turner appears as Luke.

The cast also includes John Early as Ryan, Joan’s afterlife guide, Olga Merediz as Karen, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Anna, who helps Larry on his own journey beyond life. The film features older versions of Joan and Larry, portrayed by Betty Buckley and Barry Primus.
Eternity was co-written by David Freyne and Pat Cunnane, whose script first caught attention after appearing on The Black List of most-liked unproduced screenplays in 2022. Freyne later took on directing duties, with A24 producing the project. Filming took place in Vancouver from late May to early July 2024. The score was composed by David Fleming.
The movie made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, and will close the Chicago International Film Festival on October 26 before opening in select theaters on November 14. A nationwide release will follow on November 26.
Early reviews have been positive overall. Pete Hammond from Deadline praised the film’s “bright and fun production design” and “sparkling colorful cinematography” but noted that it “could use a little tightening” in the middle section, which “feels like an eternity.”
According to Rotten Tomatoes, 88% of the first 25 critic reviews are favorable. On Metacritic, it holds a score of 64 out of 100, signaling generally positive feedback.
The newly released trailer gives audiences a look at the film’s touching mix of humor, romance, and fantasy, showcasing Olsen, Teller, and Turner in emotional and heartfelt moments.
