There are plenty of DC-based projects currently in development, and while all eyes are on Gunn’s DCU and his upcoming ‘Creature Commandos’ & ‘Superman’ we occasionally forget that Elseworlds, which ‘The Batman’ film series and several other upcoming projects are a part of, are doing their own thing. The next big thing is ‘The Penguin’ live-action series.

Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav revealed the release date for the show. We can expect ‘The Penguin’ to arrive to Max in Q3 of 2024 meaning between July and September of 2024.

Now Sebastian O’Hara, Production Assistant revealed on X that the trailer for the show is finished and that he just finished watching it, so we can only assume that the trailer will be released soon for the general public:

According to most reports, the trailer will arrive by the end of this week, and we should know more about the specific release date and the runtime of the show. ‘The Penguin’ picks up a week after the events of ‘The Batman’, and it will explore Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot’s ascent to power in Gotham City’s criminal realm. The show will reportedly be eight episodes long.

The upcoming series sees Colin Farrell as return Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot / Penguin, a rising crime lord with a disfigured appearance. Cristin Milioti plays Sofia Falcone, Carmine’s daughter, who challenges Cobblepot for control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Clancy Brown portrays Salvatore Maroni, a mob boss, and Michael Zegen appears as Alberto Falcone, Carmine’s son. Other cast members in undisclosed roles include Rhenzy Feliz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell.
