Casting director Nina Gold has shared new details about what she is looking for in the next actor to play James Bond, saying the role needs someone who naturally stands out on screen and has strong acting ability.

Speaking about the ongoing search for the next 007, Gold explained that physical presence and performance both matter, but one trait is especially important. She said the new Bond must have a strong, confident energy that feels natural, not forced.

Most importantly, Gold highlighted personality and charisma as key parts of the role. She said the actor must bring a level of charm and confidence that feels essential for James Bond.

Speaking about the qualities needed for the part, Gold said the next 007 has to “ooze sex appeal,” along with the ability to act at a high level. The comment underlines how the franchise is still focused on Bond’s traditional image as a smooth, magnetic spy, even as the search moves forward.
