Nicole Scherzinger Speaks Out: ‘Christians Get a Bad Rap in Hollywood’
Nicole Scherzinger is speaking openly about her faith and what it’s like to be a Christian in Hollywood. In a recent interview with Variety, the singer and actress said that being vocal about her beliefs isn’t always easy, especially in an industry that often avoids open discussions about religion.
Scherzinger, who is currently active on Broadway, said that talking about faith can sometimes make people uncomfortable.
“I have a wonderful church that I go to in Hollywood. Most of my friends in Hollywood are Christians. I think Christianity does get a bad rap, but I think that’s why, if you’re a true Christian, you have to lead by example and be the light,” she said.
Her comments come after an incident following the 2024 U.S. election. The former Pussycat Dolls star left a comment on Russell Brand’s Instagram post, where he wore a hat that said “Make Jesus First Again.”
Scherzinger replied, “Where do I get this hat?!” with emojis, which some people took as a political statement. She later deleted the comment and apologized, saying she never intended to link her faith with any political message.
“Many of the marginalized communities feeling hurt and concerned by the results of the presidential election are people I care about most,” she explained. “I stand with them, as I always have throughout my life and career. If you know me, you know that.”
While she regrets the misunderstanding, Scherzinger made it clear she’s not sorry for expressing her faith. She said she wants to show that being Christian isn’t about judgment but about love and kindness.
She’s also not the only star who’s open about her beliefs. Actors like Chris Pratt, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, and Patricia Heaton have also spoken publicly about their Christian faith, often saying it helps guide their work and personal lives.
Scherzinger hopes that being open about her beliefs will help others feel comfortable doing the same. For her, faith isn’t about politics, it’s about being genuine and living with purpose.
