‘Nobody Wants This’ Is Officially Coming Back, and Netflix Announced It With a Wedding Weekend Teaser
Few Netflix comedies have turned romance into a repeat habit the way ‘Nobody Wants This‘ has. The series about an agnostic podcaster and a rabbi has landed on the streamer every fall since 2024, and Netflix has made a habit of renewing it quickly. Each time, fans have barely had time to finish bingeing before the next season was confirmed.
That pattern has held since the beginning. The first season debuted on Sept. 26, 2024, and Netflix announced a second season in October 2024, less than three weeks later. Season 2 premiered on Oct. 23, 2025, and the show was renewed for season 3 less than two weeks later, on Nov. 4.
Now the streamer has done it again. Netflix has renewed ‘Nobody Wants This’ for season 4, announcing it with an 11-second clip that shows Kristen Bell’s Joanne standing in a leopard-print coat beside a floral display and a sign titled Weekend Events listing activities from Friday through Sunday. The post is captioned with a ring emoji, a nod to the wedding at the center of the season 3 story.

Netflix released the third season on Oct. 22, 2026, with all 10 episodes arriving at once. The finale featured a big family blow-out and a secret elopement, and Joanne and Noah ended up marrying in a small, spur-of-the-moment ceremony on a beach in Malibu. Netflix touted the season as the champagne season, with Joanne and Noah moving in together and getting engaged.
Co-showrunner Jenni Konner has hinted that Joanne and Noah may be married in their own way, but they have not yet dealt with the family dynamics and expectations surrounding a traditional wedding. Creator Erin Foster has also said she doesn’t think Bina will be happy about the wedding she worked so hard to plan being taken away from her. A story built around that fallout would make sense, and the Weekend Events sign in the new clip suggests a wedding weekend could be part of what comes next.
Foster told Parade that there is still more story to tell for Joanne and Noah. She has said she would rather people want more than want less, and she has called it a special show that is hard to walk away from.
Foster’s own life has fed the series. Joanne and Noah’s characters are inspired by Erin and her real-life husband, Simon, and her own engagement inspired Noah’s proposal in season 3. Simon Tikhman proposed to Foster in August 2019 by staging a fake vow renewal in Napa Valley, and Noah proposed to Joanne through a similar fake wedding in the show.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody lead the series, alongside Justine Lupe as Morgan, Timothy Simons as Sasha, Jackie Tohn as Esther and Tovah Feldshuh as Bina. Season 3 introduced several new characters, including Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Avan Jogia, Sarah Silverman, Sadie Sandler, Poorna Jagannathan and Andrew Rannells.
The numbers helped. Season 3 opened to 6.2 million views on Netflix, and the Emmy-nominated show has been climbing Netflix’s Top 10 charts. Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan serve as showrunners, with Foster, Bell and others as executive producers, and the series is produced by 20th Television.
No premiere date is attached to the announcement. Past seasons arrived in September 2024, October 2025 and October 2026, so a fall release would fit the pattern, though nothing is confirmed. Production on season 3 started in Los Angeles in March, so a similar schedule could be possible if it repeats.
For now, fans know the one thing that matters: Joanne and Noah are not done. Considering the show’s history of quick renewals, the announcement lands as a pleasant, if not shocking, confirmation that Netflix still believes in this couple.
