Few Netflix comedies have captured the cultural conversation quite like ‘Nobody Wants This’. The rom-com, created by Erin Foster and starring Kristen Bell as podcaster Joanne and Adam Brody as rabbi Noah, premiered on September 26, 2024 and quickly became a word-of-mouth favorite. Its success also helped make the streaming comedy a genuine event rather than background viewing.

Season 2 arrived on October 23, 2025, and ended with Joanne deciding to convert to Judaism, setting up the next chapter. Netflix renewed the show for a third season on November 4, 2025, less than 2 weeks after Season 2 premiered. That quick renewal reflected how strongly the series had performed.

Now the numbers for the new season are in. Season 3 reached 6.2 million views in its first 4 days of streaming on Netflix, according to the streamer’s weekly Top 10 data. That is lower than the earlier seasons, but it still carries some good news for the show.

The decline is clear on paper. Season 1 debuted with 10.3 million views in 2024, and Season 2 opened with 8.6 million views in 2025. That makes Season 3’s 6.2 million a drop of about 28% from last year’s debut.

Even so, the result is strong by recent standards. It ranks as the biggest opening weekend for a returning scripted comedy on Netflix in 2026. The season placed No. 2 on the English-language TV chart for October 19 to 25, behind ‘Below’, which pulled 7.7 million views in its third week.

The show also traveled well. Season 3 ranked in the top 10 in 56 countries and hit No. 1 in 11 of them. Across the whole series, ‘Nobody Wants This’ has landed in the global top 10 for 11 weeks and scored more than 120 million views since its debut.

One difference from last year is catch-up viewing. When Season 2 premiered, Season 1 returned to the chart for 2 more weeks. This time, viewership of Seasons 1 and 2 jumped by 200% compared with the week before, but not enough for either to return to the Top 10.

That may reflect the fact that the show’s audience is already well established. It also highlights a broader trend, as Netflix comedies returning with new seasons have been seeing smaller numbers. By that measure, ‘Nobody Wants This’ has avoided the steep drops that other series have faced.

The season premiered on October 22 with all 10 episodes at once, each around 25 to 30 minutes long. IndieWire gave it a B+ and described it as the series’ “champagne season”, with episodes built around a housewarming party, a heatwave pool party and a fake-out wedding. Rotten Tomatoes lists an 87% critics score from 15 reviews.

Opinion is not unanimous. One review called the season deeply frustrating, while others praised its ability to make viewers fall in love with it again. Audience comments suggest some fans felt Season 3 recaptured the connection of Season 1.

The season also spotlights supporting characters, particularly Justine Lupe’s Morgan and Timothy Simons’ Sasha, whose storyline mirrors Noah and Joanne’s journey of vulnerability. Jackie Tohn’s Esther also returns. Noah and Joanne have moved in together, which shapes the tone of the new episodes.

Netflix has not yet renewed the show for a fourth season. It did not receive a double renewal or a pre-season renewal this time. Based on Netflix’s previous patterns, one estimate suggests an announcement could come in early November, roughly 2 weeks after the premiere.

Given the performance, most observers expect a renewal. The opening numbers are strong in context, the series has built a loyal audience, and the cast is expected to return if the show continues. For now, fans are binge-watching and speculating about where Joanne and Noah go next.
