‘Ocean’s Eleven’ Prequel Cast Revealed, And It’s Already Shaping Up To Be A Major Heist Event
Warner Bros. is expanding the cast of its upcoming untitled Ocean’s Eleven prequel, adding several internationally known actors as production prepares to begin later this year. According to Warner Bros. Pictures, the new additions include Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Lauren Ridloff, and Jack Holden, with Omar Sy also currently in negotiations to join the film.
The project already has a high-profile lineup attached, including Bradley Cooper, Margot Robbie, Wagner Moura, Monica Barbaro, and Josh Gad. Cooper is directing the film in addition to starring and producing, while Robbie is also producing through her LuckyChap banner alongside Tom Ackerley. The movie is expected to start filming in late July, beginning in Paris before moving production to the south of France.
This new Ocean’s Eleven film is set in a different era from the original franchise led by George Clooney, which was directed by Steven Soderbergh. Instead of continuing that storyline, the prequel takes place in 1963 during the Monaco Grand Prix. Reports suggest Cooper and Robbie are playing characters connected to a younger generation of the Ocean family, while Wagner Moura is set to play the main antagonist. The exact roles for the newly announced cast members have not been revealed.
Vicky Krieps has built a strong reputation in European cinema, gaining international attention after starring in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread. She later earned major acclaim for her role in Corsage, which won her a performance prize at the Cannes Film Festival. George MacKay is also coming off a strong run of performances, including his breakout role in 1917 and more recent work in indie and period films.
Lauren Ridloff, known for her roles in The Walking Dead and Marvel’s Eternals, continues to build a steady presence in both television and film. Jack Holden brings extensive stage experience, including award-winning theatre work and appearances in British television projects. Omar Sy, best known globally for The Intouchables and Netflix’s Lupin, remains one of France’s most recognizable international stars, with multiple upcoming projects already in development.
