Speculation has narrowed down to two possibilities, either the villainous Maxima or, more provocatively, Wonder Woman herself, and Arjona has spent months neither confirming nor denying either option.
That teasing reached a new level during a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, where the host tried a different approach than simply asking her outright. Horowitz offered Arjona a direct wager, telling her he’d bet $500 that she’s playing Wonder Woman, according.
Arjona didn’t shut the idea down. Instead, she immediately countered by asking what would happen if she turned out to be playing Maxima instead, insisting that Horowitz needed to match his offer for that possibility too. The two ultimately settled on a $500 charity wager, with Horowitz owing the donation if his Wonder Woman theory proves correct, and Arjona owing it herself if she’s confirmed as Maxima.
That moment echoes a similar bit from Horowitz’s podcast history, when Jason Momoa once flatly denied being cast as Aquaman years ago, even telling Horowitz he could punch him in the face if he were lying. Rather than pushing Arjona toward another blunt denial, Horowitz’s monetary approach let her play along without technically confirming anything.
Arjona has been consistently candid about how difficult the secrecy has been for her personally, previously admitting she’s sworn to keep quiet but genuinely hates having to sit on secrets. She’s confirmed she knew exactly which character she was auditioning for going into the process, a detail that stands in contrast to how some other actors have described entering similarly secretive franchise projects.
The actress has also fueled speculation through an intense training regimen documented in a recent Women’s Health video, describing a demanding daily routine that includes roughly 45 minutes of cardio, two hours of weightlifting, and six rounds of boxing. That level of physical preparation has only added fuel to fan theories that she’s stepping into a major action-heavy superhero role.
Fan reaction across social media has leaned heavily toward the Wonder Woman theory, with viewers pointing to both her training footage and various public appearances as evidence. Arjona has continued walking a careful line at press events, at one point dodging a direct Wonder Woman question at a screening by jokingly declaring she needed to leave the room entirely.
‘Man of Tomorrow’ brings together a massive ensemble cast including David Corenswet returning as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Milly Alcock, Aaron Pierre, and Nathan Fillion. The film is set to hit theaters July 9, 2027, giving fans plenty of time left to speculate before any official confirmation arrives.
