‘Orb: On the Movements of the Earth’ Anime Adds Shōya Ishige

The anime “Orb: On the Movements of the Earth” has added Shōya Ishige to its cast. He will voice Albert Brudzewski, a young baker who lost his passion for learning after a tough experience. Albert shows up in episode 23, part of the final arc. The series started on October 5, 2024, and will have 25 episodes. It streams on Netflix and ABEMA after airing on NHK General.
The story takes place in 15th-century Europe. It follows Rafal, a smart kid who loves astronomy. His adoptive father, Potocki, pushes him toward theology. But Rafal gets pulled into secret research about the Earth’s movements by Hubert, a scholar labeled a heretic. They must avoid the Inquisition, which hunts dissenters. Madhouse produces the show, with Kenichi Shimizu as director and Maaya Sakamoto voicing Rafal.
Shōya Ishige is known for roles like Yusaku Fujiki in “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS” and Wakana Gojo in “My Dress-Up Darling.” His character, Albert, also has a younger version voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki. This duo could add depth to Albert’s story. The cast already includes big names like Kenjirō Tsuda as Novak and Shō Hayami as Hubert.
I think Shōya Ishige is a solid pick for Albert. His experience with emotional roles fits the character’s backstory of struggle and loss. It’s cool to see him join late in the series—Albert might shake things up as the end nears.
