Peter Krause’s First Major Role After 9-1-1 Gets Official NBC Premiere Date
Peter Krause is officially making his return to television, and fans will not have to wait much longer to see him back on screen.
More than a year after his emotional exit from 9-1-1, Krause is set to lead NBC’s upcoming police drama Line of Fire. The network has now confirmed the show’s premiere date as part of its fall 2026 schedule.
According to NBC’s fall lineup announcement, Line of Fire will debut on Monday, September 21, at 10 p.m. ET. The new series will air after The Voice, giving Krause’s comeback drama a major spot on the network’s schedule.

Line of Fire comes from Josh Safran, known for his work on Quantico, and follows a group of law enforcement agents who handle major investigations for agencies including the FBI, Department of Justice, Secret Service and U.S. Marshals.
The story will focus on the team as they deal with dangerous cases, but their work becomes much more complicated when they discover a possible deadly conspiracy. The discovery forces the agents to question their loyalty and whether they can continue following the rules they have always believed in.
The series stars Krause alongside Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom and Charlie Barnett. Josh Safran, Jenna Bush Hager, Ben Spector and Rebecca Thomas are attached as executive producers.
For Krause, the new role marks a fresh start after his long run on 9-1-1. The actor joined the Ryan Murphy drama in 2018 as Captain Bobby Nash, the leader of Los Angeles Fire Department Station 118.
Bobby quickly became one of the show’s most loved characters. His relationship with Athena Grant, played by Angela Bassett, became a major part of the series, with the two characters eventually getting married.
Fans were shocked when Bobby was killed during the eighth season of 9-1-1. In the episode, Bobby made the ultimate sacrifice while saving his team during a dangerous biolab explosion. His exit became one of the show’s most emotional moments.
Before 9-1-1, Krause had already built an impressive television career. He appeared in popular shows including Cybill, Sports Night, Six Feet Under, Dirty Sexy Money, Parenthood and The Catch.
Following his departure from 9-1-1, Krause stayed away from television for a while before NBC announced his casting in Line of Fire earlier this year.
NBC’s full fall 2026 schedule also includes returning favorites and new series. The lineup features shows such as Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Happy’s Place and the new comedy Newlyweds.
The network is also making changes to The Voice schedule later in the season. Starting November 2, the singing competition will move to 9 p.m. ET on Mondays, allowing new episodes of St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins to take over the earlier time slot. Line of Fire will remain in its 10 p.m. ET position.
NBC has high hopes for the new drama, which received a series order in May before the network revealed its upcoming fall schedule.
With Krause returning in a leading role and a story filled with crime, secrets and high-stakes investigations, Line of Fire is shaping up to be one of NBC’s biggest new shows for the 2026 season.
Line of Fire premieres Monday, September 21, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
