Pokemon fans with deep pockets have a new grail to chase, and it is not a rare card. Dexerto highlighted a new luxury jewelry collaboration that transforms the franchise’s most famous couch potato into an 18-karat gold necklace with a price tag that will make even dedicated collectors pause.

The Pokémon Company has partnered with luxury jewelry maker U-Treasure to release a line of necklaces based on some of its most iconic creatures, and the collection does not come cheap. Leading the lineup is the 18K yellow gold Snorlax necklace, priced at a striking 6,118 dollars.

The pendant measures 13.65 millimeters tall, 15.6 millimeters wide, and 9.8 millimeters thick, giving the sleeping giant a compact but unmistakably chonky presence when worn. The design reproduces Snorlax’s rounded belly in full 360-degree detail, capturing the character’s signature yawning, half-asleep expression that fans have loved since Generation 1.

Snorlax is not the only Pokémon getting the fine jewelry treatment, though it is easily the priciest option in the collection. Shoppers who want something a little more budget-friendly can opt for a Ditto necklace instead, which comes in at 3,060 dollars.

The collection is tied to a larger celebration for the franchise. Each necklace comes with an exclusive 30th anniversary jewelry cloth and a commemorative presentation box, and every design in the lineup includes a charm engraved with the franchise’s anniversary logo. Pre-orders for the collection are open from July 10 through August 14, available through the Pokemon Company’s online store as well as select concept stores in Japan.

This is not the first time Pokemon has ventured into genuinely high-end accessories this year. U-Treasure previously released a line of Pokemon-inspired wedding rings, and the franchise has also collaborated with Casio on a watch line packed with hidden design details for fans to discover. The Snorlax necklace, however, stands out for treating a video game character as a fine jewelry subject rather than a typical piece of collectible merchandise.

The choice to make Snorlax the flagship piece of the collection makes sense given the character’s staying power, having blocked paths and napped its way through nearly three decades of games, anime, and merchandise across every generation of the franchise. Its rounded, compact shape also happens to translate naturally into wearable jewelry design, giving the pendant an inherent visual charm that few other Pokemon could match.

Would you spend $6,000 on a gold Snorlax necklace?

For fans who came of age playing the original games and now have adult budgets to match their nostalgia, the necklace represents a very literal glow-up for a franchise that built its identity on collecting rare and valuable things. Whether buyers see it as a serious jewelry investment or the ultimate flex for a Pokémon tournament, the gold Snorlax necklace proves the franchise’s audience has grown up right alongside its most famous nap enthusiast.
