Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’ Sees Big Shift in Latest Streaming Charts
Prime Video’s “The Boys” has climbed to the top of Nielsen’s latest streaming rankings, moving from No. 2 to No. 1 week-over-week. The update comes from Nielsen’s streaming data report covering the most-watched shows and movies across platforms.
The rise to the top comes as the show’s fifth season wraps up its run. The series, known for its dark humor and extreme violence, continues to draw large audiences even late in its season cycle.
According to the Nielsen chart, “The Boys” reached 947 million viewing minutes during the tracked week. That was enough to push it past strong competition from other streaming titles across Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and other platforms.
At No. 2 on the list was “Running Point” from Netflix, which recorded 900 million viewing minutes. It stayed close behind but was not able to overtake “The Boys” in total viewing time. The rest of the top five included “La Brea,” “Bluey,” and “Man on Fire,” showing a mix of dramas, children’s programming, and action films across platforms.
Other major titles also remained steady in the rankings. “Family Guy” continued its strong performance on Hulu, while “The Big Bang Theory” stayed high on HBO Max. “Grey’s Anatomy,” still a long-running favorite, also appeared on the chart with strong multi-platform viewing numbers.
The presence of older shows alongside newer releases highlights how streaming audiences continue to split their attention between ongoing hits and established catalog content. Animated series like “Spongebob Squarepants” also maintained a spot in the top ten, showing consistent long-term viewing demand.
“The Boys” has been one of Prime Video’s biggest global successes since its debut. Its mix of superhero satire and intense action has helped it stand out in a crowded streaming market. Each season has continued to build its audience, and the latest Nielsen data suggests that interest peaked again during the final stretch of Season 5.

Nielsen’s streaming charts measure total viewing minutes across connected TV platforms in the United States. This means shows with longer episodes or full-season binge viewing can often climb higher during season finales or major plot events.
The jump from No. 2 to No. 1 indicates that viewers either returned to finish the season or discovered it for the first time as the finale approached. Either way, the data shows strong engagement right as the season concluded.
While other shows on the list performed well, none matched the total viewing time of “The Boys” during this reporting period. The gap between first and second place was relatively close, but still clear enough to secure the top position for Prime Video’s flagship series.
With Season 5 now finished, it is not yet clear how long “The Boys” will remain in the top streaming positions. Past seasons have shown that the show often continues to perform well even after new episodes stop releasing, thanks to rewatching and late viewers catching up.
For now, the Nielsen report confirms one thing clearly. “The Boys” ended its season not just with attention, but as the most-watched streaming series in the United States for the week.
