‘Reacher’ Season 3 Shatters Records with Biggest Premiere Ever on Prime Video

The Reacher series, based on the popular Jack Reacher character, continues to make a big impact, just like its towering main character. Season three of the show has officially become its most successful premiere to date, attracting more viewers than ever before, according to Amazon’s internal data.

In the first 19 days following its February 20th release, season three of Reacher reached a massive 54.6 million viewers worldwide. This marks a slight increase from season two during the same time period. As a result, the show has now become the biggest returning series (meaning it’s a season two or later) on Prime Video.

Amazon also revealed that the third season of Reacher is now Prime Video’s biggest premiere since the hit show Fallout brought in 65 million viewers over its first 16 days in April 2024. Only Fallout and season one of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have attracted more viewers during a similar time frame.

The 54.6 million viewers refers to the audience over the 19-day period, which includes the first five episodes of season three. The sixth episode was released early Thursday. U.S. viewership numbers for the premiere week of Reacher will be available from Nielsen on March 20.

The success of Reacher season three is impressive when compared to other big releases on Prime Video in recent months. For example, the show Cross brought in 40 million viewers worldwide over its first 20 days in November and December. Similarly, season two of The Rings of Power reached 40 million viewers in just 11 days after its premiere in August 2024.

However, it’s not clear if the 54.6 million viewers for Reacher is an “average minute audience” or if it’s simply the total number of people who watched at least a few minutes of the season.

With its growing popularity and massive viewership, Reacher season three is proving to be one of Prime Video’s top-performing shows. Fans of the action-packed series are clearly tuning in for more, and the success of this new season shows that Jack Reacher’s story is still one audiences can’t get enough of.
