‘Resident Evil: Survival Unit’ Revealed as New Mobile Strategy Game, Details Dropping Soon

Aniplex, JOYCITY, and Capcom are bringing a new Resident Evil game to mobile devices called Resident Evil: Survival Unit.
This game will be a real-time strategy experience designed specifically for iOS and Android players. It will launch in several regions including North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and other parts of Asia.
This new title takes a different approach from the usual survival horror style of recent Resident Evil games. Instead, it turns the franchise into a strategy game that works well on mobile platforms.
According to a press release, “Resident Evil: Survival Unit offers a fresh take on the beloved franchise, reimagining the survival horror universe as a real-time strategy experience optimized for mobile platforms, iOS and Android.” The goal is to appeal to both longtime fans and new players alike.
The announcement came during Anime Expo, where Shinji Hashimoto, senior vice president of Aniplex ForwardWorks Room, revealed the project. He said that Capcom, JOYCITY, and Aniplex are all working closely together on this new game. While details about how the game will actually play are still under wraps, fans won’t have to wait too long to find out more.
A full reveal event for Resident Evil: Survival Unit is set for July 10 at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET and will be streamed on YouTube. This event will likely show off the gameplay and give a better idea of what to expect from this new take on Resident Evil.
