Rumors: ‘Vision Quest’ Gets a Release Date Update
‘WandaVision,’ a hit Marvel series centering on Wanda Maximoff and the aftermath of her loss, was praised for its creative approach to storytelling and exploration of the character’s personalities and emotions. The show was also successful enough to warrant two additional spinoffs, ‘Agatha,’ which is set to arrive on Disney+ later this year, and ‘Vision Quest,’ show with as-of-yet uncertain release date.
Last year, the WGA Directory listed ‘Vision Quest’ as reportedly arriving during the 2024-2025 TV season. Plenty of fans were excited about the premise, but the SAG-AFTRA strike delayed and altogether halted numerous projects, some of them have even been canceled for good. Now industry inside MyTimeToShineHello has some news for the fans, according to most recent rumors ‘Vision Quest’ should presumably be released as early as 2026.
Plenty of fans already pointed out that at that point, too much time will pass between the release of ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Vision Quest’ and that the MCU is making a capital mistake by introducing characters and delaying their standalone projects by several years, something similar already happened with ‘Ironheart’ which was recently confirmed to still be in development following the rumors of cancellation.
Back in October 2022, Deadline reported that the second ‘WandaVision’ series was currently in the works, with Jac Schaeffer acting as a head writer and executive producer. In May 2023, it was revealed that Eileen Shim had joined the series as a writer. The series is currently in development, and there isn’t that much information going around except the fact that the project is focusing on White Vision.
In the ‘WandaVision’ finale, we saw that the new version of Vision was created by S.W.O.R.D. called White Vision. Wanda’s Vision tries to restore White Vision’s memories by using the Mind Stone from his own forehead, which leads to a philosophical debate about what makes a person a “real” Vision. In the end, White Vision remembers who he is and takes off without any explanation, leaving the fate of the character unclear.
