Wonder Man not cancelled accroding to rumors

One of the upcoming projects in the MCU that fans were often buzzing about was ‘Wonder Man.’ ‘Wonder Man’ is a Hollywood satire featuring Williams as an actor-turned-superhero in Tinseltown. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star as Simon Williams (Wonder Man,) alongside Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris. Just recently, before the historic SAG-AFTRA project was over, ‘Wonder Man’ was heavily rumored to be canceled, which at the time made sense considering that the show spent a lot of time in development hell, with little to no news regarding it.

Now, it seems that the ‘Wonder Man’ production is restarting after the strike has ended. As The Streamr shared on X, the filming of the show is expected to start in January, the best-case scenario being that it’s starting as soon as next week.

The production was reportedly delayed due to the strikes, which isn’t as surprising considering that plenty of other anticipated projects were severely delayed or are in the middle of reworks now that the strikes have ended. Notably, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is being reworked, and ‘Deadpool 3’ was about 90 % done when the filming had to be stopped. There was also ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ that had extensive reshoots following the strike’s end due to unsatisfactory fight scenes when compared to previous Captain America movies.

There are also rumors that ‘Wonder Man’ show will undergo significant overhaul and changes, which seems to be in line with the current MCU trend now that the majority of their 2023 projects have faced fan backlash and have notably bombed at the box office with ‘Marvel’ being the lowest-grossing MCU movie of all time. We still don’t have a release date for ‘Wonder Man’, and we don’t really know what the project will be about, but in any case, we are excited. Have something to add?
