One of the first projects to be released however is ‘X-Men ’97,’ a show that was slated to be released in early 2024 and according to some reports in the spring of 2024. Now Cryptic HD QUALITY notable leaker on X shared with his followers that the trailer for the show is ready while later adding that he received some hints that the show might be released on March 20th which coincides with the rumors that the show will be released in Spring.

In November 2021, Marvel Studios announced ‘X-Men ’97,’ a revival and continuation of the beloved ’90s animated series, ‘X-Men: The Animated Series.’ The project is spearheaded by Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, VP of Animation at Marvel Studios, along with head writer and executive producer DeMayo, supervising director Jake Castorena, and supervising producer Charley Feldman. Original series showrunners Eric and Julia Lewald, along with director Larry Houston, serve as consultants, ensuring fidelity to the original while offering fresh ideas. Marvel Studios executives Kevin Feige, Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Winderbaum also serve as executive producers.

This marks Marvel Studios’ first foray into X-Men since reclaiming the rights from 20th Century Fox, which DeMayo acknowledges adds pressure due to the franchise’s devoted fanbase. Fast-tracking the revival is attributed to the original series’ success on Disney+ and the popularity of the art book ‘X-Men: The Art and Making of The Animated Series.’ While not part of the MCU, ‘X-Men ’97’ continues the original series’ storylines, with potential clarification regarding its relationship to the MCU. Introduced as part of the ‘Marvel Animated Multiverse’ during San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was announced that work on the second season had already started by July 2022, underscoring the project’s anticipation and commitment to fans.

If you’ve never seen the original show, now is the right time to dive into it considering that ‘X-Men ’97’ is a direct continuation of it and just one of many projects that Marvel Studios aims to revive. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
