And while there are speculations that the series might end with a potential fourth season, the fans can currently look forward to an exciting new season, which is going to bring new intrigues, conflicts, as well as new faces.

In a recent discussion with the press, returning showrunner Ryan Condal revealed one character’s arrival and confirmed that the character in question would have a major role in the story.

The character in question has been mentioned in the show several times, and several sources, including George R.R. Martin himself, confirmed that the character is part of the TV continuity despite not having appeared in the series. He is – Daeron Targaryen!

The character was supposed to appear in Season 1, but this was rejected due to time-related issues, which postponed the character’s debut. Now, Condal confirms that prince Daeron will debut in Season 3 and teases a big role for him.

“Daeron’s in the story,” he says directly. “He’s a big feature in the book, but if you read the book narrative sequentially, the material we’ve covered so far didn’t really have a lot of call for Daeron in it, which is why we’re getting to this now.

He did not want to spoil much, “I won’t say much more, but I will say that the fact that Daeron has not featured in the world of his family, at least his immediate nuclear family, is sort of the point I think. The thing that interested us, if not the most, about his character is who he is now as a young man.”
