Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman Comment on Their MCU Future after ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: “I’m Very Nervous Talking to You”

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is certainly one of the releases this year that is meant to kickstart great things. First, the movie is Deadpool’s first foray into the MCU, something that fans have been asking for, well, since the MCU existed. Second, it’s part of a new strategy that aims to restore at least some of the faith that fans had in the franchise and in the studio.

Third it’s going to feature a large number of cameos and variants, some confirmed and some only rumored.

Early reports regarding the movie claimed that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will prove vital for the continuation of the MCU due to its Multiversal themes, and the more about the plot we learn, the more this seems likely.

Strangely, a lot of people are hyped for the release, but one of the least asked questions is, what after the movie? What are Deadpool & Wolverine variant going to do once the hype blows over and the movie finishes its theatrical run, as we hype for the next big release?

This is exactly what Empire asked the duo in the latest interview, and both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman had interesting answers:

Ryan Reynolds: I’m very nervous talking to you

Hugh Jackman: I’ve never been so scared of what’s coming out of my mouth.

It’s clear that the duo will continue their MCU careers, especially now that Disney is struggling with the financial side of their movies, it would be a shame not to cash in on them further.

As far as Deadpool goes, we really have no idea how he fits into the MCU canon, besides serving as comic relief, but Wolverine was rumored to have a major role in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
