Shawn Levy Addresses Taylor Swift in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Rumors, Sparking Even More of Them

A while back, we’ve made a list of all expected & rumored cameos and variants set to appear in the movie. The list counted a total of 19 souls, I guess that number climbed up to 20 with the CinemaCon’s video where Thor can be seen crying over Deadpool’s body.

One of the most significant names on that list is Taylor Swift. The popular singer is friends both with Reyndols and his better half, Blake Lively so fans theorized that she would be a natural choice for a celebrity cameo.

Though there’s no official word on Taylor Swift joining the cast of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the rumor mill has been buzzing since 2022. Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm in an interview, saying,

“Are you kidding me? I would do anything for that woman. She’s a genius.”

Reynolds himself dropped the first hints of Taylor and him collaborating on the movie in a teaser video released in September 2022. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the video was shot in the same location as Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well: The Short Film’ video. Given Reynolds’ status as a devoted Taylor Swift fan, the teaser wasn’t a huge surprise for Swifties.

Adding fuel to the fire, Disinsider confirmed the rumors, listing Taylor Swift as one of the names set to join the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ cast. The post mentioned that Swift, already associated with Dazzler by fans, would be teaming up with Hugh Jackman and other A-listers for the movie.

Now as the film’s release is slowly nearing, Shawn Levy himself addressed the rumors via Entertainment Tonight, saying:

I can’t even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can’t answer.

Fans already jumped to the conclusion that Taylor Swift has to be in the movie, otherwise, Shawn would be able to just debunk the rumors right? Something that Gunn does frequently on Threads.

However, the movie’s marketing doesn’t work that way, if fans are hoping to see Taylor in the movie, and if that little rumor encourages just one person to see the movie who would otherwise skip it, It’s fine with him.

Swift is set to appear either as Dazzler or as Lady Deadpool, but I have to stress that in recent times, Lady Deadpool has been connected with Blake Lively more and more.
