Snoopy Lands on Santa’s Naughty List in Apple TV’s Festive New ‘Snoopy Presents’ Special – Release Date Revealed
Few things signal the start of the holiday season quite like a Peanuts special, and Snoopy has been at the heart of that tradition for generations. The beloved beagle has seen plenty of adventures, but never, it seems, a spot on the naughty list. That is about to change in the newest Snoopy holiday special heading to streaming.
Apple has been building a home for the Peanuts gang for years. The company has been home to the classic Peanuts library since 2020, alongside original programming collaborations that began in 2018, and its exclusive streaming deal with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions runs until 2030. Along the way, that partnership has produced new specials under the ‘Snoopy Presents’ banner, including ‘Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne’, the first Peanuts holiday special produced in more than 20 years.
Now the first trailer for ‘Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy’ is here, and it shows Snoopy in an unusual predicament. The Peanuts kids are on their best behavior this year, but Snoopy has landed on Santa’s naughty list. With just 12 days left until Christmas, he sets out to prove he is not such a bad beagle after all, learning along the way that the holiday is about more than presents.
The special premieres globally on Friday, November 13, on Apple TV. The footage runs 1 minute and 24 seconds and shows Snoopy racing downhill on a sled in a green-and-yellow striped hat and a flowing blue scarf, while Woodstock wearing a little red winter cap flutters through the snowy sky above him.

One of the biggest surprises is the music. The special features original songs from some major artists, starting with John Legend’s “Get Ready,” produced by Raphael Saadiq. Kamasi Washington contributes “Trying To Get There” featuring Leon Bridges, while Laufey performs “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” produced by Spencer Stewart.
The score comes from Emmy-nominated composer Jeff Morrow, and the original soundtrack arrives alongside it. Between a holiday standard and two original tracks, the music gives the special a distinctly star-studded feel.
‘Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy’ is produced by Peanuts and WildBrain and inspired by Charles M. Schulz’s classic comic strip. The executive producers are Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Logan McPherson, Paige Braddock, Chris Bracco and Mark Evestaff. The same partnership has already delivered a number of acclaimed projects, including the Emmy-winning documentaries ‘Who Are You Charlie Brown?’ and ‘Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10’.
The new special is part of a bigger holiday push on the streamer. It arrives alongside ‘Fraggle Rock: A Holiday Gift,’ which premieres on December 4, and the family film ‘Way of the Warrior Kid,’ which debuts on November 25.
Apple is also keeping the traditional Peanuts viewing events alive. ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’ streams for free on November 14 and 15, the day after the new special premieres, and ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ follows with a free weekend on December 12 and 13. Subscribers can watch all of the classics at any time, and ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ already had its own free window in October to mark its 60th anniversary.
Apple’s Peanuts slate does not stop with the holidays, either. The company is currently in production with WildBrain and Peanuts on a brand-new animated feature film starring Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang, so the beagle’s streaming future looks busy.
The special is also described as part of the acclaimed ‘Snoopy Presents’ banner, which suggests Apple sees these originals as a core part of its family lineup. For now, the immediate question is whether Snoopy can win back his place on Santa’s good side before Christmas arrives. With a stacked soundtrack, a ticking clock and a very familiar lesson at the heart of the story, the special looks like a cozy addition to the season’s viewing list.
Do you think Snoopy deserves to be on Santa's naughty list?
