‘Special Forces’ Season 5 First Look: FOX Reveals the New Celebrity Cast
FOX is bringing back one of its toughest reality competitions, and the new season is packed with familiar faces from sports, television, and entertainment.
The network has officially revealed the cast for season 5 of ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,’ where 15 celebrities will leave behind their comfortable lifestyles and take on intense challenges inspired by the real training used by elite military forces.
This season will take the recruits to Malaysia, where they will face the harsh conditions of the jungle. Instead of competing for votes or trying to avoid elimination, the celebrities will have to rely on their own strength, teamwork, and determination to survive the experience.
FOX announced that the season 5 cast includes athletes, actors, reality stars, and public figures. The lineup features NBA champion and podcaster Matt Barnes, world champion boxer Alycia Baumgardner, actress Candace Cameron Bure, actor David Charvet, and ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ alum Brandi Glanville.
Also joining the challenge are former TV personality Collin Gosselin, actor Oliver Hudson, Super Bowl champion NFL player LeSean McCoy, Olympic figure skater Maxim Naumov, actor Ruby Rose, comedian Hannah Stocking, and reality stars Breana Tiesi, Alexia Umansky, and Mauricio Umansky. Former congressman George Santos will also take part in the competition.
According to FOX, the new season will push the celebrities through some of the most difficult challenges the show has featured so far. The recruits will have to complete dangerous jungle missions, including a high-pressure search inside an underground bunker, retrieving supplies while suspended hundreds of feet above the ground, and surviving chemical exposure exercises while completing military-style tasks.
The show is designed to test more than just physical ability. The celebrities will also have to deal with fear, exhaustion, and unpredictable situations while being pushed by a team of former special forces operators.
Returning to lead the recruits are Directing Staff members Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Jovon “Q” Quarles. The former military experts will guide the celebrities through the difficult exercises and decide who has what it takes to complete the challenge.
Unlike many reality competition shows, ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ does not feature traditional eliminations or voting. Instead, contestants can voluntarily leave or be removed if they are unable to continue. The only goal is survival.
The series has become popular because it puts celebrities into situations far outside their normal lives. Viewers get to see stars without the usual glamour, as they struggle through the same demanding conditions faced by real recruits.
FOX confirmed that ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ Season 5 will premiere on September 24 at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will also be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
The series is produced by Minnow Films, with Becky Clarke, Liam Humphreys, and Dave Sutton serving as executive producers.
With a cast that includes professional athletes, reality stars, actors, and even a former politician, season 5 looks set to deliver another round of unpredictable moments, intense challenges, and celebrity breakdowns as the recruits discover just how far they can push themselves.
