MCU has quite a slate of movies coming up, even though Marvel Studios has hit a rough patch with the last couple of projects. There have been talks about releasing fewer projects, as fans are definitely becoming tired of shows and movies of lower quality; still, if one character always managed to drag people to movies, it’s Spider-Man, by far the most profitable Marvel franchise, no matter the product you’re looking at.

Several months ago it was confirmed that ‘Spider-Man 4’ is in active development, so far we don’t know much about the movie except for a few confirmed cast members.

Tom Holland confirmed recently that he will always return to reprise his role as the web-slinger in the MCU since he owes his career to the franchise. He also confirmed that he has much more creative input now and that he needs to conserve the legacy they created with ‘No Way Home.’

Zendaya was also confirmed to reprise her role as MJ, although the actress herself did not comment on it. One actor that remains under question is Jacob Batalon. Recently he confirmed that he has no idea whether there are plans to include his character in the upcoming movie. In his interview with CBR, he cleared up whether plans existed to turn his character into Hobgoblin.

Honestly, I’m not sure. Again, we may have talked about things, for sure, but I don’t know if it would’ve really led to anything serious about being a villain, or anything like that.

Jacob also stressed once again that he has no idea whether he will appear in the upcoming movie at all.

I’m open to anything, and I think we all are open to anything. Unless you’re like a superhero, like big time, one of the main ones they’re trying to make movies about, you don’t really know what’s going to happen. In the industry, people don’t want to hope to wish. So, I would hopefully [return]. I’m down for anything. I would love to be a part of something special again. But also at the same time, I understand it’s a business, and people may not want that thing anymore, so I’m just being more realistic than anything else.

The script for ‘Spider-Man 4’ is still not finished, but the movie is currently aiming to start production in late 2024, which means that we can expect the movie sometime in 2026, if not later.
