Could It Be? Star Wars Episode IX: The Only Hope?

How do you feel about Star Wars: The Force Awakens The Last Jedi, The Only Hope?

The Only Hope.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Only Hope.

If rumours are to be believed, Episode IX’s title hasn’t been revealed and the title might actually be The Only Hope. Given the history of the franchise and the untimely death of Carrie Fisher, The Only Hope is as perfect a fit as a right key for a keyhole.

“Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my Only Hope.”

Remember that line? Princess Leia famously used it in her message to Ben Kenobi. That message set off a chain reaction the led to the down fall of the Empire. Ben recruits Luke. Luke learns the Force. Luke brings aboard Han and Chewbacca. The three rescue the Princess and then blow a hole in the Death Star.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

As it turned out, Luke, not Ben, was The Only Hope.

Not only does Star Wars Episode IX The Only Hope, pay amazing homage but it also pays a beautiful tribute to Carrie Fisher. It was her who said the words that started Star Wars so it only makes sense that the movie to end the Skywalker saga also come from her.

And if that’s not enough to convince you, look back at the first sentence in this article. Star Wars Episode IX: The Force Awakens The Last Jedi, The Only Hope. What a beautiful sentence perfectly constructed throughout three different movies to send one straight forward message. The force awakens the last Jedi, the only hope. Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

Whether or not the title actually becomes The Only Hope nobody knows for sure. But knowing any of the above makes it’s hard to create and argument as to why it shouldn’t be. It’s nearly impossible say that the titles aren’t intelligent and perfectly crafted.

Star Wars, for as big as it has become, for the uncountable imaginations that it have ignited, and for the 100’s of memorable characters it has given the world, has always been about one thing. Hope. With a December 2019 release date, we will find out sooner than later how much Hope remains.

Cheers,

Joel
