‘Superman’ Stars Sign Film Workers for Palestine Petition
“Superman” star David Corenswet and “Supergirl” actress Milly Alcock are in the spotlight after signing the Film Workers for Palestine pledge.
The petition asks people in the movie industry to stop working with Israeli film groups that the organizers say are linked to “genocide and apartheid” against Palestinians.
The pledge was launched on September 8, 2025. It urges actors, filmmakers, and production workers to avoid film festivals, broadcasters, and production companies in Israel that the group believes are involved in the ongoing conflict.
More than 5000 people in Hollywood, including actors, directors, and crew members, have already signed the pledge. Among the well-known names are Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Tilda Swinton, Riz Ahmed, Javier Bardem, and Cynthia Nixon. All of them say they want to support peace and stand up for Palestinian rights through this action.
However, not everyone in the film industry agrees. Some actors and filmmakers have chosen not to sign the pledge, saying the situation is too complicated or that they prefer not to take political sides.
This has created a visible divide in Hollywood, with some speaking out strongly for the cause while others stay silent or choose neutrality. The debate has spread across social media and film events, showing how deeply the issue has affected the entertainment world.
The Film Workers for Palestine campaign has quickly become a major talking point in global cinema, and the participation of stars like Corenswet and Alcock has only added to the discussion.
Whether this movement will bring real change in the industry remains to be seen, but it’s clear that the conversation around the war and human rights is not slowing down anytime soon.
