Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Franchise)

Roald Dahl’s *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory*, first published in 1964, follows young Charlie Bucket as he wins a Golden Ticket to visit the magical chocolate factory owned by the mysterious Willy Wonka. Dahl was inspired by his childhood experiences with British chocolate companies and their secretive competition. The novel became one of the world’s most popular children’s books and was followed by the sequel *Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator* in 1972. It has also inspired several adaptations, including the 1971 film *Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory*, the 2005 remake, and the 2023 prequel *Wonka*.
