‘Wildwood’ is LAIKA’s upcoming stop-motion fantasy film, directed by Travis Knight and adapted from Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis’s novel, following teenager Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) as she ventures into the enchanted Impassable Wilderness outside Portland, Oregon, to rescue her baby brother after he’s abducted by crows. Joined by her classmate Curtis Mehlberg (Jacob Tremblay), Prue navigates a hidden world of talking animals, bandits, and powerful figures driven by grief and ambition, with an all-star voice cast including Carey Mulligan, Angela Bassett, Awkwafina, and Mahershala Ali. Billed as LAIKA’s most ambitious project yet, featuring 136 locations and 231 practical puppets, the film opens in theaters nationwide on October 23.
