Even when the curtain has officially fallen on ‘The Boys,’ the cast is not quite ready to let go. Prime Video has released the blooper reel for the fifth and final season of Eric Kripke’s satirical superhero drama.

The bloopers offer a fresh behind-the-scenes look at the cast and crew during the making of the final season, with the outtakes leaning into the same dark humor that made the series such a distinctive presence in the superhero space.

The fifth season premiered on April 8, with a two-episode launch followed by weekly releases. The finale landed in US theaters on May 19 before streaming on Prime Video the following day. With the series now fully wrapped, the blooper reel serves as a warm, chaotic tribute to the people who made it work.

The final season centered on the ultimate showdown between The Boys and an increasingly tyrannical Homelander, whose grip on power spiraled out of control as the world fractures beneath unchecked superhero dominance. Meanwhile, Billy Butcher returned with a dangerous plan to wipe out Supes entirely, forcing every character into impossible corners.

The finale itself proved divisive, with a vocal contingent of fans feeling the ending did not do the full series justice. Kripke addressed the backlash directly, noting that the online storm, while “all-encompassing,” represented only a fraction of the show’s actual viewership, which he put at well north of 60 million viewers.

The decision to end with the fifth season was made years in advance. During an interview with TV Line, Kripke explained that the team settled on this endpoint all the way back when they were in production on season three. It was a deliberate creative choice rather than a cancellation, giving the show a rare opportunity to build toward a planned conclusion.

The season featured returning cast members including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, and Jensen Ackles. Whether fans made peace with how it all ended or not, the blooper reel is a reminder that, behind all the blood and chaos, this was a group of people who genuinely loved making something strange and funny together.
