At the premiere of the final episode of The Boys, Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan Butcher, talked about how powerful his character could be in a crossover-style fight. During a short interview on the red carpet, he was asked to imagine Ryan going up against some major comic book characters.

Crovetti gave a simple and surprising answer when he mentioned Marvel’s Doctor Doom. He said, “Doctor Doom maybe? I think that’d be interesting fight.” His comment quickly got attention from fans online, who began debating how such a fight would actually play out.

In The Boys, Ryan Butcher is Homelander’s son, and he does inherit similar abilities. He has super strength, flight, and heat vision, which already makes him one of the most powerful characters in his universe. But even with those abilities, he is still young and inexperienced compared to fully trained heroes or villains.

Doctor Doom, on the other hand, is considered one of the most dangerous villains in that universe. He is not only a powerful fighter in armor, but also a genius scientist and a master of magic. Because of that, fans widely believe the matchup is extremely uneven.

In terms of raw strength, Ryan could cause serious damage in his own world. But Marvel’s scaling puts Doctor Doom on a completely different level. Doom has fought characters like Thor and the Hulk and has survived battles involving cosmic-level threats. He also uses advanced technology, force fields, and magic, making him far more versatile in combat.

Another major difference is experience. Ryan is still learning to control his emotions and powers. In The Boys, he often struggles with fear, anger, and confusion about who he is. Doctor Doom, however, is a calculated strategist who has spent years mastering both science and sorcery. He rarely enters a fight without a plan.

Doom also uses decoys called Doombots, which means even defeating one version of him does not guarantee victory. This adds another layer of difficulty for any opponent who tries to take him on directly.

The comparison between Ryan and Doctor Doom has become a fun fan discussion, but most viewers agree the outcome would not be close. Ryan’s power level is impressive within The Boys, but Doctor Doom operates on a much larger, almost global or even multiversal scale in Marvel storytelling.
