‘The Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Gets Candid About ‘Baby Botox,’ Buccal Fat Removal, and Her Post-Baby Body
Celebrity beauty speculation has become something of a modern spectator sport, with fans dissecting every red carpet photo for signs of cosmetic work that stars rarely address directly. That kind of scrutiny has followed Jennifer Lawrence for years, and she’s finally decided to answer the questions herself, on her own terms.
The Oscar-winning actress has spent much of her career fielding online speculation about her appearance, particularly after a wave of theories circulated in 2023 suggesting she’d undergone significant facial work. Rather than continuing to dodge the topic, Lawrence has increasingly opened up in recent interviews about exactly what cosmetic treatments she has, and hasn’t, actually tried.
Speaking to Vogue, Lawrence confirmed she does regularly get what’s known as “baby Botox,” a technique that uses smaller, more conservative doses of botulinum toxin to soften fine lines without fully freezing facial movement. “I need to have movement in my face, I get baby Botox, but I can’t do a lot,” Lawrence told Vogue, explaining that she’d rather accept some natural sagging than lose expressiveness on screen. “If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty.”
Beyond Botox, Lawrence revealed there’s one specific cosmetic procedure she’d genuinely love to try but has held back from pursuing entirely because of her fame. “I would love to have a buccal fat removal. I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that,” she admitted.
Buccal fat removal involves surgically removing fat pads located between the cheekbones and jawline, a procedure designed to create a more sculpted, defined facial appearance by reducing fullness in the lower cheeks. Lawrence made clear the interest is genuine, even if she’s not willing to actually go through with it while remaining such a recognizable public figure.
She also touched on fat transfer procedures, which involve moving fat from one part of the body to another for a more sculpted look, admitting she remains hesitant about trying that specific treatment herself. “I’m really nervous about these fat transfers. I support other people doing them because I want to continue to watch and see what happens, but I don’t know about that,” she explained.
This isn’t the first time Lawrence has spoken candidly about cosmetic procedures recently. Back in October 2025, she told The New Yorker she was considering a breast enhancement procedure following the birth of her second son earlier that year, describing how her body responded differently after each pregnancy.
“Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one,” Lawrence said at the time, referring to her first son, Cy, born in 2021. “Second one, nothing bounced back.” She acknowledged that being famous plays a role in her decision-making around the procedure, admitting she probably wouldn’t be as eager to pursue it if she weren’t living in the public eye.
Lawrence’s latest comments continue a broader pattern of openness she’s adopted in recent years, following persistent online speculation about her changing appearance. She previously addressed rumors directly with Interview magazine, explaining that losing baby weight in her face as she aged had led fans to wrongly assume she’d gotten a nose job, when in reality her cheeks had simply become smaller over time.
She’s also confirmed in past interviews that she has used Botox, while explicitly denying ever getting fillers, explaining she wanted to avoid the kind of overly altered look she associates with excessive filler use. Between her honesty about Botox, her curiosity about buccal fat removal, and her openness about post-pregnancy body changes, Lawrence appears intent on controlling her own narrative rather than letting online speculation define it for her.
