‘The Odyssey’ Just Crossed an Insane Number at the Box Office, and Christopher Nolan’s Sequel Weekend Is About to Outdo Oppenheimer Itself

That kind of hold would allow the film to edge past ‘Oppenheimer’s’ opening weekend total entirely, something few original theatrical releases manage to do in their second frame.

The film’s overall pace has been described as significantly ahead of ‘Oppenheimer’ at the same point in release. With an estimated ten day domestic total already north of $283,000,000, ‘The Odyssey’ is running roughly 62 percent ahead of where ‘Oppenheimer’ stood after its first ten days, putting it on track to blow past that film’s eventual $330,000,000 North American total well before its theatrical run winds down.

Even under more conservative projections, a floor of $400,000,000 domestic and $1,000,000,000 global is now considered increasingly likely, which would make it the first Nolan film outside of his ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy to clear both thresholds.
