Tom Hardy Reportedly Fired From ‘Mobland’ Amid On-Set Drama — Will Not Return for Season 3, New Details Emerge
Tom Hardy is reportedly out of the Paramount+ crime drama Mobland and will not return for Season 3. The news comes after behind-the-scenes issues during the production of Season 2, according to reporting from Puck News.
Mobland is a British crime series created by Ronan Bennett for Paramount+. The show follows Harry Da Souza, played by Tom Hardy, a fixer working for the powerful Harrigan crime family. The cast also includes Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, along with Paddy Considine as Kevin Harrigan. The series launched in 2025 and quickly became one of Paramount+’s most-watched titles, ranking second in viewership during its debut run.
According to reports, Paramount decided not to move forward with Hardy for the third season after repeated tension during filming of Season 2. Sources say the issues included disagreements over scripts, attempts to change dialogue, and frequent frustration on set. Hardy was also allegedly late to set on multiple occasions.
The situation reportedly became serious enough that it caused tension between key creative figures on the show. One source described growing conflict between Hardy and producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser during production. At one point, the disagreement was said to have escalated so far that Butterworth considered stepping away from the series.
In the end, Paramount reportedly chose to part ways with Hardy instead of continuing the situation into another season. Industry reports also note that Hardy’s contract included a mutual option for Season 3, meaning either side could have chosen not to continue.
No official public statement has been released by Paramount or Hardy’s representatives, both of whom have declined to comment on the situation, according to the same reports.

Mobland itself remains centered on the violent power struggle between rival crime families in London, with Harry Da Souza acting as the key fixer trying to manage escalating tensions and prevent a full-scale gang war. The series mixes crime drama with family power politics and has been described as a major streaming success for Paramount+ since its launch.
With Hardy now reportedly out, it is not yet clear how Season 3 will continue or whether the character of Harry Da Souza will be recast or written out entirely.
