Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is officially getting a second season, and fans already have a lot to look forward to. The first season was a solid win for Marvel Studios, bringing back the vibe of the old Netflix series while introducing some fresh faces.

It also helped tie the Defenderverse into the main MCU. Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock, and he was joined once again by Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. There were also new characters added to the mix.

Originally, the first season was supposed to have 18 episodes, but Marvel ended up splitting it into two seasons instead. Season two is coming out in March 2026 and will be just eight episodes long. According to Marvel, it’ll be part of Phase Six of the MCU.

And that’s not all, there’s a special Punisher project on the way too, starring Jon Bernthal, which was developed during filming for the first season. That special will also arrive sometime in 2026 under Marvel Studios’ “Special Presentations” label.

Most of the main cast is returning for season two, including Cox as Daredevil, D’Onofrio as Kingpin (who is now the mayor of New York), and Bernthal as Frank Castle. Margarita Levieva plays Heather Glenn, a former girlfriend of Matt’s, while Ayelet Zurer is back as Vanessa Fisk.

There’s also a surprise return from Foggy Nelson, even though he was killed off early in the first season. Marvel’s Sana Amanat said the show “could not see a Daredevil season without [Henson] in some regard.” That makes people wonder if there’s more going on behind the scenes with his character.

We think it could tie into an old Daredevil comic from 2006, where Foggy faked his death and went into witness protection. Others point out that the Netflix shows have brought people back from the dead before. Still, directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead said that in this series, “dying very often does mean that you’re actually dead.”

Filming for season two started in late February 2025, under the working title Out the Kitchen 2. Scenes were shot around New York City, including at Josie’s Bar in Brooklyn and other areas like Chelsea.

Filming is expected to finish in July. The new season is directed by Benson and Moorhead, along with Solvan Naim, Iain B. MacDonald, and Angela Barnes. The cinematography team from season one is back, too, including Hillary Fyfe Spera and Jeffrey Waldron.

Vincent D’Onofrio recently gave fans something else to think about. In an interview with Awards Buzz, he talked about the possibility of a third season. He said that the team behind the show already has a plan, but it all depends on how well season two does.

“If they allow us to continue, we have a plan,” D’Onofrio said. “It’s up to the fans, to watch, to get excited. It’s up to us to please them and get the story right, but it’s all, yeah I mean we’re looking forward in a big way.”

So if fans want to see more of Daredevil and Kingpin after 2026, they’ll need to show up and support the show when it drops. Marvel is clearly putting in the work, and now it’s up to the audience.
