Why Leonardo DiCaprio Allegedly Avoids Dating Women Over 25
Leonardo DiCaprio seems to have a clear pattern when it comes to dating: he mostly goes for women under 25. This trend has been noticed for years, with his past relationships often sparking discussion in the media.
DiCaprio’s relationship with Camila Morrone is a recent example. The pair reportedly started dating when she was 20, though they had known each other for years through Morrone’s pseudo-stepfather, Al Pacino.
Their relationship ended shortly after Morrone turned 25. According to an insider speaking to The Post (via Page Six) in 2022, there is a reason for the age limit. “By the time girls reach 25, they’re looking for more — they’re looking to get married and settle down. That is not what Leo wants,” the source said.
“He does not want a family and does not want to be around women who may press him for that. The minute a girl meets him, the clock is ticking. If she gets too old, in a couple of years, she is gone. If she gets too close, in a couple of years, she is gone.”
The insider also said DiCaprio’s preferences haven’t changed much as he’s gotten older. His dating history is filled with models and actresses, usually between 18 and 24. This includes high-profile names like Blake Lively.
When DiCaprio and Lively broke up in 2011, he was 36 and she was 24. A source told Us Weekly that DiCaprio wanted a more serious relationship while Lively “wasn’t ready to settle down.” The insider added, “[DiCaprio’s] looking for someone to eventually start a family with … That’s not where she’s at. She’s only 24!” Another source noted, “He’s more mature. They’re not in the same place right now.”
After their split, Lively married Ryan Reynolds in 2012. Some suggest the difference wasn’t just timing but compatibility. Meanwhile, the 2022 insider mentioned a model who hooked up with DiCaprio and described him as “an old man.” They also called his habit of dating women half his age “a little creepy,” though they admitted his fame and charm, especially as “Jack from ‘Titanic,’” still attract younger women.
Other women DiCaprio has dated include Gisele Bündchen and Bar Refaeli, both around 20 when they started dating him. He broke his usual pattern with Gigi Hadid in 2022, who was 27 at the time. And his most recent relationship is also unusual.
Currently, DiCaprio, 50, is dating 27-year-old model Vittoria Ceretti. According to Us Weekly, the couple has been exclusive since late 2023. “It’s going so well that Leo’s actually being exclusive. Vittoria is all he thinks about,” an insider said.
They added that their relationship feels different from his previous ones because of their shared interests and DiCaprio’s comfort with being affectionate in public. The source said DiCaprio considers Ceretti “an old soul” and that his friends are hopeful she could be “The One.”
