Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of Marvel’s biggest movies yet. The film promises a huge crossover, bringing together heroes from the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakanda, the X-Men, and more.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, the movie is set to hit US theaters on December 18, 2026. Marvel has also announced a follow-up, Secret Wars, which will come out the next year.

The cast is packed with familiar faces and fan-favorite heroes. Robert Downey Jr. returns, but this time as Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, taking on a villainous role. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby star as Reed Richards, or Mister Fantastic, and Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, of the Fantastic Four.

Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, while Anthony Mackie plays Sam Wilson, the new Captain America. Sebastian Stan returns as Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier.

Fans can also look forward to seeing Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, or Ant-Man, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, a skilled fighter from Black Widow. Letitia Wright plays Shuri, the new Black Panther, and Tom Hiddleston is back as Loki. Legendary actors Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen return as Professor X and Magneto, while Alan Cumming appears as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn plays Mystique, and Kelsey Grammer takes on Beast. Channing Tatum also joins the cast as Gambit, adding another X-Men favorite to the mix.

Now, there is one more name confirmed for the movie. Xochitl Gomez, who spoke to ET Online, revealed that she will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Gomez said she has to be very careful about what she shares, but she did talk about her excitement for her character, America Chavez.

“I’m excited to see her future. I think most importantly—actually, what do you guys want to see?” Gomez asked, turning to the camera. “What are YOU hoping for America’s future? I would love to see that, and hopefully we can cook up something based on what y’all put out there. Manifest it. There’s your task. Manifest America’s future.”

When asked to describe America in three words, Gomez said: “Bravery. Courage. And let’s say… just powerful.” She also shared who she is excited to work with, saying: “Not to say anything for sure, this is just vibes, but I worked with her once and I would love to work with her again. She was a dream—I would love to work with Elizabeth Olsen again.”

Gomez talked about working with Olsen on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, explaining: “No, I just let her do her craft and soaked it in. And that’s exactly what I did. I think the best piece of advice she gave me was: if there’s an idea or something on your mind, just say it. Put it out there. You never know. And to this day, I still do that.”
