‘Star Trek’ Star Rushed to Hospital Amid Health Struggles
Star Trek legend William Shatner was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital this week after experiencing a health scare at home.
The 94-year-old actor, best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk, reportedly faced a medical emergency related to his blood sugar levels.
Emergency services were called to his property, and paramedics transported him to receive care. Sources say Shatner is now “resting comfortably” and doing “good.”
Shatner has had a long and celebrated career, winning a Golden Globe for Boston Legal and continuing to work on projects such as the upcoming TV series The Elevator.
Over the years, he has also faced various health challenges. He has struggled with tinnitus, a hearing disorder he believes may have been caused by a pyrotechnics accident on the 1967 Star Trek episode “Arena.”
To manage it, Shatner has used habituation therapy, which involves wearing an earpiece delivering low-level white noise to help his brain tune out the ringing. He is also a supporter of the American Tinnitus Association, a charity for the condition.
In addition to tinnitus, Shatner has shared that he experiences swollen joints and other age-related aches and pains.
He uses cannabidiol oil, derived from cannabis, to help manage the discomfort. Despite these health hurdles, Shatner continues to remain active in acting and public appearances, showing his dedication to his craft even in his 90s.
Shatner’s recent hospital visit is a reminder that even legendary stars face serious health challenges. It’s good to hear he is recovering, and fans will no doubt be sending their well wishes. How do you feel about Shatner’s health scare? Share your thoughts in the comments.
