The Netflix Series That Will Terrify Every Parent Has Arrived
Netflix has added another mystery thriller to its growing collection of Harlan Coben adaptations, and this time the story takes viewers into a shocking case of family, secrets, and impossible discoveries.
The new eight-episode series I Will Find You is based on Coben’s 2023 bestselling novel of the same name. The crime drama arrived on Netflix on June 18, and follows a man who escapes prison after discovering that the truth behind his son’s death may not be what everyone believed.
The series centers on David Burroughs, played by Sam Worthington, a former law professor who has spent five years behind bars after being convicted of murdering his own son. David has always claimed that he was innocent, but nobody believed him.
Everything changes when Rachel Mills, an investigative journalist played by Britt Lower, visits him with a shocking piece of evidence. She shows him a photograph that suggests his son Matthew may actually still be alive.

Faced with the possibility that his child survived, David decides he cannot stay in prison any longer. He begins a dangerous search for answers, leading him into a hidden world of secrets and a possible conspiracy that could change everything he knows.
The series brings together a strong cast led by Worthington and Lower. Milo Ventimiglia, known for his roles in This Is Us and Gilmore Girls, also appears as Hayden Payne, Rachel’s former boyfriend and someone who remains close to her.

The cast also includes Erin Richards as Cheryl Dreason, David’s ex-wife, while Chi McBride plays Max Williams, a veteran FBI agent connected to the investigation. Logan Browning stars as FBI agent Sarah Greer, and Jonathan Tucker plays Adam Mackenzie, David’s best friend.
Harlan Coben, who serves as an executive producer on the Netflix adaptation, praised the team behind the series. In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Coben highlighted the talent involved in bringing his story to the screen.
Showrunner Robert Hull also praised the cast, describing them as a talented group that helped bring the complicated characters and emotional story to life.
Like many of Coben’s Netflix adaptations, I Will Find You has already created a divided reaction among critics. Some reviewers feel the show delivers the twists and suspense fans expect, while others believe the story becomes too unrealistic.
The Guardian described the series as “another silly, formulaic and strangely appealing” example of Coben’s adaptations. Meanwhile, The Independent criticized the show as a story that becomes increasingly chaotic, calling it “an overcrowded feast of complete nonsense that gets crazier with every episode.”
However, viewers appear to be much more positive. Many fans on social media and IMDb have praised the series for keeping them interested throughout all eight episodes.
One IMDb user shared their excitement by writing, “I’m addicted,” explaining that they watched the entire series in one afternoon.
The popularity of Harlan Coben’s stories often comes from their fast pace, unexpected twists, and mysteries that encourage viewers to keep watching. Previous Netflix adaptations like Fool Me Once and Missing You have also attracted large audiences by turning ordinary situations into shocking mysteries.
With I Will Find You, Netflix is once again betting on Coben’s ability to create suspenseful stories filled with secrets, emotional moments, and surprising reveals. Whether viewers love or criticize the twists, the series is already giving thriller fans another mystery to discuss.
