HBO Max Announces Another Price Increase
HBO Max is raising its subscription prices again, just a year after the last increase, Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Tuesday.
The changes will affect both monthly and annual plans, starting October 21.
The Basic plan with ads will go up by $1 per month, reaching $10.99, while the yearly subscription will increase by $10 to $109.99.
The Standard plan will see a $1.50 monthly increase, making it $18.49, and the annual plan will rise $15 to $184.99. The Premium plan will go up by $2 per month to $22.99, with the yearly subscription increasing $20 to $229.99.
“Existing monthly subscribers will be notified 30 days in advance of their plan renewing and see price increases starting from their next billing date on or after Nov. 20, 2025,” the company said. Annual subscribers will only see the change when their plan is up for renewal, and they will also receive a 30-day notice.
These price increases reflect the streaming service’s ongoing adjustments as it continues to invest in content and technology. For subscribers, this means slightly higher monthly and yearly costs, depending on the plan they choose.
Frequent price hikes like this can frustrate loyal subscribers, but they’re often a part of how streaming services stay competitive. It will be interesting to see if the higher costs affect how many people continue their subscriptions. Do you plan to keep your HBO Max subscription despite the increase?
