To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Fathom Entertainment and Warner Bros. are bringing Peter Jackson’s entire trilogy back to theaters next year.

Fans can catch the extended editions of all three films in DBOX format from January 16 to 19, with standard screenings scheduled for January 23 to 25. To mark the release, Fathom released a new logo and a new trailer.

Alongside the films, select theaters will offer special Lord of the Rings-themed concessions.

AMC locations will feature popcorn buckets decorated with maps of Middle Earth, while Regal and other local cinemas will provide buckets designed like the iconic One Ring. A new logo and trailer marking the trilogy’s 25th anniversary have also been released.

The extended editions are notably longer than the original theatrical releases. While the original cuts total just over nine hours, the extended versions run about 11 and a half hours. These editions were originally released on home video a year after each film first hit theaters.

This isn’t the first time Fathom and Warner Bros. have brought the extended editions back to cinemas. In 2024, 4K Ultra remasterings of the trilogy were rereleased in theaters, giving fans a chance to revisit Middle Earth on the big screen.
